My energy is split across more than one focus. As an entrepreneur, I get to make video games with superstar teams and also work odd jobs with larger organizations that recognize how powerful storytelling through technology can be (the hustle is REAL).
In games, building inclusivity, sustainability, and creativity isn’t easy... That’s why it has become a personal mission for me to raise the bar—standing alongside contemporary artists and founders who are pushing boundaries across the Creative Tech sector.
DigiBC - The Creative Technology Association of British Columbia is a prime example of this spirit: a community built on collaboration and curiosity. It’s been inspiring to meet with fellow founders, Canada Media Fund | Fonds des médias du Canada, Creative BC, Global Affairs Canada | Affaires mondiales Canada, and partners who can see this on a broader scope. I played a small role in the XP Gaming Inc. summit, together with DigiBC and the VIFF Industry, which was nothing short of exceptional. It was also a pleasure to witness the Honourable Brenda Bailey's speech at the opening reception of Signals!
As a participant, part-time project manager, and event host for Signals x VIFF and the XP Summit, here's what I learned:
😅 Founders are passionate. But the reality is, most of us are only a few months from the end of our runway.
🗣️ Networking is a skill. Showing up, remembering names, and listening create genuine connections. Good people want to see other good people succeed.
🏆 Attitude matters. First impressions last, and how you carry yourself sets the tone for future opportunities.
🐱 Kindness is simple. Invite someone into your circle. Share stories. Small gestures make others feel included. Lead with curiosity over judgment because empathy and self-awareness build compassion—and lasting communities.
❌ Never take people for granted. Recognize people who demonstrate leadership, knowledge, and strong integrity by treating them with respect.
❤️🔥 At the heart of it all? Showing up with gratitude and zero expectations. Presence changes the way we connect—it makes everything lighter, more authentic, and more meaningful.
A special thanks to the people with whom I worked closely; The ones who keep doing the work, building connections, and relentlessly chasing what really matters, even when life throws us a curveball.
